Information we collect

When you order or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery details, order history, messages and any information you choose to give us about a cake or handover. If you tell us about an allergy or dietary requirement, we use that information to respond to you and, where agreed, to handle your order.

Shopify and its payment providers process payment and checkout information. We receive payment confirmation and transaction details needed to manage orders and refunds; we do not need your full card number to fulfil a cake order.

When you use our site, Shopify and any tools enabled on the store may collect technical and usage information such as your IP address, device and browser details, pages viewed, and interactions with the site or our emails through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use information

We use personal information to process payments and orders, arrange collection or delivery, contact you about an order, answer enquiries, address complaints, provide refunds, maintain records, protect our store against misuse and improve our website and customer service.

If you subscribe or otherwise give appropriate consent to marketing, we may send news and offers by email. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or by contacting us. Ordering a cake does not by itself subscribe you to our marketing emails. We may still send service messages about your order.

Shopify, service providers and disclosures

Shopify hosts our store and processes information needed to provide checkout, payments, store operations, analytics and other enabled services. Shopify may also process customer data to develop and provide enhanced services, including insights and personalisation, if the relevant Shopify features are enabled for our store. We may share information with payment processors, technical providers and other providers where necessary to run the store, communicate with you and fulfil your order. Enabled analytics and advertising tools may receive technical and interaction information. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or customers, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell customer contact lists.

Our site uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions such as checkout, and may use them for analytics and advertising depending on the settings and tools in use. You can manage cookies in your browser and, where available, through the privacy or cookie controls shown on our site. Blocking some cookies may affect store functions. Storage, security and overseas processing

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to manage orders, respond to enquiries, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. We take reasonable steps to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Shopify and other providers may store or process information outside Australia. Their handling of information is also governed by their applicable privacy terms and safeguards.

Your choices and requests

We will consider your request in light of applicable law and records we need to keep. We may need to verify that the request comes from you. Where a privacy law gives you additional rights, we will respect those rights.

Children and other websites

Our store is intended for people placing an order, not for children to provide personal information independently. Please contact us if you believe a child has given us personal information. Links to other websites, including social media sites, are governed by those sites’ privacy practices.
